True Stories

Music maestro David Byrne took inspiration from tabloid headlines to create the only film he's directed, an ode to the extraordinariness of ordinary American life. Byrne is also our on screen host, a visitor to the town of Virgil, Texas, who introduces us to the locals as they prepare for the town's 150th anniversary and the Celebration of Specialness. We meet a local singer who just wants to find his true love, a woman who can't seem to ever get out of bed, and a community leader who really enjoys veggies.<div>Using Talking Heads music to stich together the town's happenings, Byrne creates a loving tapestry of stories, showing his audience that everyday life always has interesting tales beneath the simple surface.</div><div><br></div>ComedyPT1H29MUSen
